Meghan McGuire

Ballet Faculty

Originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Meghan McGuire received her early training at the Boston Ballet School under the direction of Laura Young.  While with the Boston Ballet School, she performed numerous children’s roles with the Boston Ballet Company including Anna Marie Holmes’s staging of Le Corsaire.  Meghan went on to study on scholarship at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts training primarily with Melissa Hayden, Warren Conover and Nina Danilova.  At NCSA, she had the privilege of performing some of George Balanchine’s works staged by Melissa Hayden. 

Upon graduation from NCSA, Meghan was accepted into the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where she majored in Ballet Performance with an Outside Field in Business and a Minor in Psychology.  At Indiana University, she studied with Violette Verdy, Guo Ping Wang, John Clifford, and Jacques and Virginia Cesbron.  Meghan performed both contemporary and classical ballets at Indiana University including the Nutcracker, George Balanchine’s Serenade and original works by Jacques Cesbron and Guo Ping Wang.  Meghan received additional training at the Nutmeg Conservatory and the Kirov Academy.

Upon completing her Bachelor of Science in Ballet Performance, Meghan went on to receive a Masters Degree in Community Mental Health counseling from Indiana University.  During her graduate school studies, she was Associate Instructor for the African American Dance Company under the direction of Professor Iris Rosa, where she taught and performed with that company.  Meghan is currently a Licensed Mental Health Therapist in Indianapolis.
