Summer Intensive

June 19th to July 21st, 2017 

The five week-long Summer Intensive aims to further dancers’ training and improve

essential skills required to advance to their desired level of excellence. Students have

the opportunity to work with other talented dancers selected from a national audition

tour and under the guidance of ISB’s Artistic staff, teachers from Indiana University’s

Ballet Department, and other guest teachers.



The Indianapolis School of Ballet’s Summer Intensive curriculum provides exceptional

instruction for the serious minded ballet student to reach their desired level of

achievement. This five-week intensive includes classes in Technique, Pointe, Variations,

Adagio, Modern, Ballroom, Jazz, Pilates, and Weight Training for Men. All students

will participate in weekly lectures on nutrition, physical therapy, foot care, and seminars

on college and career preparedness.


Admission to the Summer Intensive is by audition only. DVD audition accepted with $30 fee by March 31, 2017. Download the form here. Students must be 10 years of age by June 1, 2017. Housing available for students aged 13 to 23. Online registration is required prior to audition and can be accessed here. An audition fee of $30 can be paid online with pre-registration, otherwise the fee is due at at the time of audition. Please bring 2 photos, a headshot (may be a school photo) and full-length dance photo in first arabesque. Ladies must bring pointe shoes.

Students aged 13 and up, can stay in supervised housing on the beautiful downtown campus of IUPUI, located one-mile from the ISB studios. University Tower is a full service residence hall, a secure building staffed by experienced adult counselors to ensure a safe, friendly atmosphere for all students. Double occupancy rooms with fully attached bathrooms include air conditioning, cable TV hookup, and high speed Internet. Other amenities include free resident laundry, lounge and social spaces, resident computer lab, dining facilities, resident fitness center, and campus buses.
