Jacqueline Hodek was born and raised in Columbus, Indiana where she was introduced to the arts at a young age. When she was 5, she began dancing locally at Dancer’s Studio Inc. and eventually took additional classes at Indiana University’s pre-college program. She later joined the Indianapolis School of Ballet in 2014, graduated in 2015, and went on to study at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she completed her BFA as a ballet major under the direction of Susan Jaffe.
Throughout her dance career, Hodek has had the opportunity to work with dancers such as Gelsey Kirkland, Violette Verdy, Susan Jaffe, Zippora Karz and many others. She has also had the honor to perform in several ballets of many styles, including Balanchine’s Valse Fantaisie, La Bayadere Act II, and Paquita, as well as being cast in principal roles as Dark Angel in Serenade, Prelude in Les Sylphides, the Center Girl in Sir Frederick Ashton’s Symphonic Variations, and Sugar Plum in The Nutcracker.
Hodek is very excited to begin her first season with the Indianapolis Ballet.
