Rowan Allegra is a third generation ballet dancer who was raised in the Bay Area. She received her primary dance education from her parents, Andre Reyes and Cynthia Drayer, former principals with San Francisco Ballet. Rowan proceeded to study at Boston Ballet School where she performed in yearly productions with the school and the company. Rowan has also trained in year-round programs with institutions such as Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance. She has attended summer programs all over the world, some of which include San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and the Palucca School for Dance in Dresden, Germany.
After completing her training, Rowan danced professionally at Texas Ballet Theater in Fort Worth, where she got to perform in many of her favorite ballets including Dracula, Etudes, Minus 16, and a new creation by Val Caniparoli. After a season in Texas, Rowan took some time to explore and visit various companies abroad like English National Ballet and Royal Danish Ballet. Rowan’s following contract took her to San Francisco where she danced professionally with Bay Pointe Ballet for their fall season.
Rowan is very excited for her next adventure in Indianapolis and has been a member of the company since its inaugural season.
