Ballet Faculty

Elaine Rand is currently a Professional Level 9 student at the Indianapolis School of Ballet. At the age of four, she began her study of ballet at Lafayette Ballet School in Lafayette, Ind., under the direction of Sandra Peticolas. During her twelve years there, she danced featured roles in La Bayadere, Paquita, and The Nutcracker, as well as in many original classical and contemporary works.


Rand enrolled at ISB in fall of 2016, receiving meticulous instruction from founding artistic director Victoria Lyras, Michelle Merrell, Karen Scalzitti-Kennedy, Paul Vitali, and Roberta Wong. Since beginning her training in Indianapolis, she has had the opportunity to perform in Capriccio Espagnol, The Nutcracker, and George Balanchine’s Valse Fantaisie, among other ballets. She most recently performed as a part of the 2017 IndyFringe Festival.


Rand has attended summer intensives with Louisville Ballet, Indianapolis School of Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet.
