At the Indianapolis School of Ballet, we are proud to be the region’s premier destination for world-class ballet education—and the only studio in the area specializing in the Balanchine technique. Our students train with dedication and passion, preparing to one day perform alongside professional dancers.
It’s not just about technique—it’s about joy, growth, and community. Here at ISB, dancers make lifelong friendships and share in the love of movement in a supportive, inspiring environment. We’re excited to help you pursue your dreams and reach your full potential—on stage and beyond.
-
At the Indianapolis School of Ballet, we believe in training the whole dancer. Our curriculum goes beyond ballet technique to support your growth as both an artist and an individual. From nutrition education to mental health resources, we’re committed to helping you become a healthier, more balanced, and confident performer.
We also encourage you to explore and strengthen your abilities in tap, jazz, and modern dance—expanding your versatility and helping you discover a style that’s uniquely your own.
-
No matter your experience, everyone is welcome in our Pre-Professional Program! Rather than placing students by age, we evaluate your unique skills and strengths to place you in the level that best supports your growth. This personalized approach helps every dancer thrive—boosting your athleticism while you master movement, build technique, and gain confidence with every step.
-
We focus on refining technique to its highest level. With carefully selected performances each year, our dancers gain the fundamental skills to execute choreography with ease and artistry. This approach prepares you for the demands of a future in ballet.
-
Find your dance family at the Indianapolis School of Ballet. Not every student dreams of becoming a ballerina, but all of us share a passion for dance and a desire to grow. Through dedicated practice and inspiring performances, you'll connect with incredible people, learn from seasoned mentors, and build friendships that last a lifetime.

At our school, ballet is taught by those who know it best—the professionals. We’re proud to be closely connected with the Indianapolis Ballet, offering students direct access to the expertise and artistry of a professional company from the very beginning. Through hands-on learning with our distinguished faculty, our curriculum is rooted in real-world experience and inspired mentorship.
Programs
Young Children’s Program
The Young Children’s Program is where big dreams begin with little steps. Designed for children ages 2 to 7, this joyful, age-appropriate program blends movement, music, and imagination to foster creativity, confidence, and physical coordination. As children explore the joy of dance and develop important life skills like listening, practicing, and working with others, they are gradually introduced to the foundational elements of classical ballet, preparing them for a smooth transition into more structured training. With a nurturing environment and performance opportunities like our annual May We Dance showcase, every young dancer is encouraged to shine both in the studio and on stage.
Students are placed by age as of August 30, 2025.
