Ms. Duffin began her professional ballet training in Philadelphia under the loving guidance of Barbara Sandonato, who was chosen by George Balanchine to be the first principal dancer of the Pennsylvania Ballet. While studying with Ms. Sandonato, Brigid was given the distinct honor of being named the recipient of the Barbara Weisberger Scholarship. To complete her ballet training, Brigid spent three years studying at the prestigious San Francisco Ballet School.

Brigid began her career as a professional dancer at the Sarasota Ballet, where she performed a diverse range of repertoire by choreographers such as Sir Frederick Ashton, George Balanchine, and Antony Tudor. From there, Ms. Duffin went on to dance with the Minnesota Ballet for four seasons where she had the opportunity to dance numerous principal roles, the most memorable of which being the role of Odile in Swan Lake, which was choreographed on her.

Laced throughout her professional dance career, Brigid has also worked as a guest artist for several different ballet companies, allowing her to perform for audiences in New York City, Philadelphia, and Boston. Brigid very much credits her broad range of performance experience working as both a company member and a guest artist for adding to her ever-expanding knowledge of the ballet art form. She is equally grateful and excited to continue her growth as an artist here at Indianapolis Ballet.
