The Indianapolis School of Ballet is proud to offer its Young Men’s Scholarship Program to male dancers of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities. We are delighted to work with young men of all interest levels, from those just discovering ballet to those on a professional track.
We are committed to advancing both professional ballet and dance education in the Indianapolis community. By providing scholarships for dance training to young men, the Indianapolis School of Ballet hopes to make the exploration of dance affordable, attract diverse talent, and expose new audiences to the art form.
The Young Men’s Scholarship Program provides instruction based on the classical teachings of George Balanchine in an environment designed for the continual physical, intellectual, emotional, and artistic growth of all dancers.
Through the discipline and artistic expression of ballet, our dancers develop artistic abilities, like self-expression, and athletic abilities, such as balance, flexibility, and strength. Our dancers also emerge from the program with a heightened sense of self, confidence, and character.
Parents and dancers interested in the Young Men’s Scholarship Program placed in Level 1 or higher may apply by filling out the form below. All completed forms must be sent to Kristin Toner at ktoner@indyballet.org.

Pre-Professional Level (1-8) Program
Students Ages 7-18 years
No experience is necessary to join ISB’s Pre-Professional levels. Candidates will undergo a level placement lesson in order to find where they best fit.
The Pre-Professional Level Program offers beginning, intermediate, and advanced ballet classes. The program is tailored to the unique needs of male dancers, while providing a supportive and inspiring environment under the direction of IB faculty and mentors.
By participating in Pre-Professional classes, dancers will have the opportunity to perform in ISB’s annual May We Dance showcases, as well as audition for opportunities in Indianapolis Ballet’s professional performances.

Professional Level Program (PLP)
Students Ages 16 & up
PLP is a full-day, intensive program that trains alongside the new Indianapolis Ballet professional company on a daily basis.
Young men interested in seriously pursuing a professional career are invited to audition for the new Professional Level Program.
Room and board is not provided in the tuition coverage for PLP candidates.
Potential performance opportunities in company productions are available, but not guaranteed by participating in PLP.
