Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Lucy Merz began her training at The Pittsburgh Youth Ballet, before joining the Ballet West Academy in Salt Lake City in 2015.  In 2019 she joined the Pacific Northwest Ballet as a scholarship student in their Professional Division. Upon graduating in 2021 she accepted an Apprentice contract with the Indianapolis Ballet, and was promoted to the Corps in 2022.  She has choreographed two works for the company, and is a faculty member and YAGP coach for the School of Indianapolis Ballet. She has attended summer courses with Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and The School of American Ballet.  Lucy’s favorite ballets to have performed include Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, Valse Fantasie, Concerto Barocco, and Walspurgis Nacht as well as  Septime Webre’s Romeo and Juliet, and Viva Vivaldi by Gerald Arpino.
