Macyn began her ballet training at age 12 in Indiana with Evansville Ballet. In 2015, she competed in the Youth America Grand Prix and placed in the top twelve in the Senior Women Classical Division. Later that same year, she joined the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago as a trainee. In 2016, Macyn joined San Francisco Ballet School at the highest level and attended from 2016-2018. In these years she performed with the company, the Opening Night Gala, as well as school performances including Balanchine’s Serenade and Stars and Stripes.
In 2018, Macyn joined Charlotte Ballet II. She performed with the main company in diverse roles such as Princess Florine in Sleeping Beauty, Spanish and Mirlitons in The Nutcracker, Alonzo King’s Map, and more.
In 2020, Macyn joined Sarasota Ballet as an apprentice. While at Sarasota Ballet, she performed and rehearsed soloist roles in Balanchine’s Donizetti Variations, Western Symphony Second Movement, principal roles in Sir Frederick Ashton’s Birthday Offering, Zulma in Sir Peter Wright’s Giselle, Twyla Tharp’s Nine Sinatra Songs, Balanchine’s Serenade, Kenneth MacMillan’s Elite Syncopations, and more.
In 2021, Macyn choreographed and premiered her first ballet entitled Exurgency on the Sarasota Ballet and was awarded a place on Dance Data Project’s Women in Ballet Leader Board.
Macyn has had the honor to work closely with Tina LeBlanc, Patrick Armand, Patricia Barker, Sofiane Sylve, Patricia McBride, Elyse Borne, Jacquelin Barrett, Sandra Jennings, Joanna Berman, Hope Muir, Laszlo Berdo, Mark Diamond, Shelley Washington, Margaret Barbieri, Lindsay Fischer, Mandy-Jayne Fischer, and many more influential mentors and dancers.
Macyn is ecstatic to continue her dance journey with Indianapolis Ballet as an artist for the 2023-24 season!
