Nicholas Bentz began his dance training at the Center of Creative Arts in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri under the direction of Antonio and Kirven Douthit-Boyd. While in St. Louis he also performed with the The Muny Teen Touring Troupe as part of their pre-professional training division appearing in various Actor's Equity productions such as My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, Aida, Hairspray, and The Buddy Holly Story. In 2016, Bentz moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to continue his education at Butler University. While there, he trained under Butler University's esteemed faculty and had the opportunity to perform many works that engaged with the greater Indianapolis area. Performances include but are not limited to The Nutcracker, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, Gerald Arpino's Light Rain, and Patrick de Bana's Falling Sky. Bentz graduated in May of 2020 with his Bachelors of Arts in Dance Pedagogy. 

In August 2020 Bentz joined Louisville Ballet as a Studio Company Artist. In his two years with Louisville Ballet, Bentz performed in every company production dancing corps de ballet, featured/soloist, and multiple principal roles. He has danced choreography by Jerome Robbins, Adam Hougland, currant Artistic Director Robert Curran, Herald Uwe Kern, Danielle Rowe, and Val Caniparoli. 

Bentz is delighted to be a part of Indianapolis Ballet as an Artist for the 2023-24 season and looks forward to what is sure to be a wonderful year performing for the Indianapolis community!
